    Default brake swap with subaru Sti brembo calipers?

    good day

    someone made this swap of front discs that can be so difficult?

    i think in only use the calipers and other discs fron other car

    I haven't heard of anyone eve having used STI calipers on an early evo before, but I guess it can be done.

    Technically, any brake caliper can be made to fit (within reason) it's the braket that mounts the caliper that involves the most work, as it's generally custom.

    You are probably better off buying an existing kit that you know is going to fit first time buddy.

    Contact 'freaky parts' on this forum, as he is the brakes guru on here and should know which way you should go.

    Subaru do use the same brand/make of twin spots the Mitsu Evo 1-3's have, so may not be that different after all its always the brackets getting made up or sourcing is the hard part

    actually i have some subaru wrx calipers lying around and i put it up to the bracket the other day to see if i could put them on somehow and ... don't really think so

    Were they the same brand/make of twin spots the Mitsu Evo 1-3's have? Didn't mention anything about WRX callipers!!

    Although I wouldn't ever do this kind of mod for brakes on a Mitsu

    Is that the rear calipers on the front hubs? And would you be happy loading that many washers on the bolt? When my engineer makes the brackets, he makes them to the right thickness so the caliper sits flush with the lugs on the caliper. this will give it a lot more strength and less stress on the bolts.
    Just out of interest who's is that car? as they've not fitted nylock nuts either... hope they've stuck some threadlock on at least

    They are in west Midlands, was found on the web so I was just poking at it.. but
    I couldn't agree more my old mentor would slice my fingers off and poke out my eye's if he even saw me working near that type of dodgy work.

    I suppose its acceptable for some Subaru's owners though :snicker:

    doesnt look like there is thread lock the threads look clean i wudnt fancy standing on the brakes hard that often with that

    christ brakes are the last thing you would want to cut corners on
    I always live by the rule if you lube your shaft before you put it in, it's better for the shaft and better for the hole it's going in.
